The crew of ‘Good Company’ has some fun with Cre8Play

The second leg of the road tour has officially kicked off and in true “Good Company” fashion, it didn’t disappoint. Making the long haul from Dallas to Minnesota was well worth it when the crew arrived just outside of Minneapolis to find a fantasy land full of what children’s dreams are made of.  The warehouse that serves as the home to the sixth “Good Company” on the tour is filled with more creativity than most people would know what to do with, all thanks to a team of about 20 grown-ups with some seriously awesome imaginations.

Welcome to the world of Cre8play. With wild concepts that rival those of even the most creative children, Cre8Play designs, builds and installs custom play elements for indoor and outdoor play areas. These definitely aren’t your typical playgrounds, though. From enchanted forests and shipwrecked voyages to lifelike barns and the most envious clubhouse ever – if you can dream it, Cre8Play can build it.  With what often times begin as a napkin sketch – and later results in miniature 3-D models, life-size element fabrication and installation – Cre8Play turns even the most ridiculously inventive ideas into a reality.

It all began when Todd Lehman, Cre8Play’s owner, executive creative director and certified playground and safety inspector, decided to take his experience in his family’s playground business and put his own twist on it. Using his experience in traditional post and platform playgrounds, Lehman decided to shift his focus to custom play environments in order to feed a growing demand. The result was the 2005 inception of Cre8Play and the impressive success story that’s ensued.

As obvious innovators in the playground industry, Cre8Play believes you can either look like everyone else, or you can have a look all your own. To go with their big dreams, they have an equally big mission: To create the most amazing play environments the world has ever seen. With a undertaking like that, it should come as no surprise that all designs, modeling and fabrication meet national and state level guidelines, standards and accessibility needs – which means fun forallchildren. And to top it all off, Cre8Play’s products (which are all made in-house) are so well-crafted and sealed with graffiti-proof paint, that they are virtually indestructible.

“They’re creating products that are far superior to the rest of the industry competitors, and kids are going absolutely bonkers over them,” said director Daniel Maitland. “If Pixar made playgrounds, it would be Cre8Play.”

MultiView and the “Good Company” crew would like to thank Todd Lehman and the entire Cre8Play team for allowing us to take a peek into their world. Don’t forget to follow along with the Good Company crew at as they continue their road trip around the country as they dive further into the world of unique American businesses.
